1. the fact of existing; existence (as opposed to nonexistence).
7. (initial capital letter) God.
I couldn't find the definition of "being" that I was looking for. Either dictionary.com doesn't update often or the defintion of the word I'm seeking is only used in the everyday vernacular, yet to be hallmarked with the other accepted meanings of the seemingly simple but amazingly profound and, ironically, complex word: being.
For to exist simply - it is a simple state of fact. That exists. there. done.
It seems stagnant, stable, and even unchanging.
But the "being" I was searching for is quite unlike that. Its not just a state of existance, but when you are being something, you act in a certain character because you live to what makes you move... The difference is not to just live but really living!
But to go back, I don't want to bag on the concrete connotation of the word that dictionary.com gave me. Maybe its good "my" definition of being wasn't on there, it would be incomplete. So, I would tailor my defintion to include consistency of character, almost enough to equate you with that character.
I want to BE a Christian.
God commanded that I take up the cross and follow him daily, abandoning my hold on this world, of what I think will give me security, of my own agenda and plans for the future.
Does it sound hard, soul?
Trusting in the living God who knows all and wants the absolute best for you?
. . .
Giving up your heart to him and to no other pleasure, which satisfies the deepest longing of your heart?
. . .
No.
"I am so glad that Jesus loves me, Jesus loves me, Jesus loves me. I am so glad that Jesus loves me, Jesus loves even me."
I am a Christian.
